Hey Reader,
Picture this: It's 6 AM, I'm still half asleep, and I'm boiling water for my coffee. I turn the burner knob off and suddenly... β‘POPβ‘... a big blue spark of electricity shoots out of the back of my oven.
Being absolutely terrified of fire, I immediately turned off the breaker and started panicking. There aren't many things more horrifying to a baker than having an oven suddenly go on the fritz.
Thankfully, I was able to get a local appliance repair guy out that same day and he fixed it for me, so crisis averted! But I was definitely not a happy camper for a little while there.
Luckily, the rest of the week was much less eventful. A company called RootedFare was kind enough to send me some of their sesame butters to try, and I used some to make the cutest sourdough cookies for Halloween. I also found an adorable sleeping baby vole while I was cleaning up my garden and harvested all of my basil, which turned into almost 2 pounds of homemade pesto for the freezer!
And now that the garden season is winding down, apple picking season is ramping up here in Massachusetts. Which means I'm about to be swimming in apples! π
So today, I'm sharing five of my favorite sourdough apple recipes for you to make this fall.
I hope you find one you love and enjoy! βΊοΈ
