Hey Reader,

A few weeks ago, we hosted a brunch bridal shower for my sister—she’s getting married in September! 💍👰‍♀️

While chatting over avocado toast and coffee, we got to reminiscing about our favorite childhood breakfasts.

Mine? Cinnamon raisin swirl bread from Pepperidge Farm—toasted, buttered, and always with a little extra cinnamon sugar on top. 🍞🍇

These days I make all my own bread with sourdough (naturally), and I realized I didn’t have my own cinnamon raisin swirl bread recipe on the blog… so I had to change that!

This loaf is beautifully soft, naturally leavened, swirled with cinnamon sugar, and studded with juicy raisins.

Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough Bread

Soft, naturally leavened loaf swirled with cinnamon sugar and studded with sweet, juicy raisins.


To help you get the best results, here are some ingredients and tools I recommend:

  • Food Scale - Measuring by weight is the easiest way to get consistent results every time.
  • Bench Scraper - Handy for shaping dough and keeping your work surface clean.
  • Lodge 6-Quart Dutch Oven - My go-to for baking crusty sourdough—it helps trap steam for that perfect artisan-style loaf.
  • Loaf Pan - Great for everything from classic sandwich bread to sweet swirled loaves.
  • Straight-Sided Proofing Container - Great for tracking bulk fermentation.
  • Lame - For scoring your loaf so it bakes evenly and opens up beautifully in the oven.
  • Bread Sling - Reusable and makes transferring dough into a hot Dutch oven easier.
