Hey Reader,
Strawberry picking has always been one of my favorite things to do once the weather warms up. There’s just something about a sunny field and a bucket full of ripe berries that makes it feel like summer’s finally here. 🍓☀️
Last year, I even tried growing my own strawberries in the garden. I did get a few… but the birds, bugs, and bunnies definitely enjoyed them more than I did. 😅
One strawberry dessert I’ve loved since I was a kid (and still do) is strawberry shortcake. 🍰
So this year, I decided to make it completely from scratch—with juicy, macerated strawberries, fluffy homemade whipped cream, and a simple sourdough drop biscuit made with discard.
It’s light, fresh, and perfect for all your summer gatherings.
I hope you enjoy! ☺️
P.S. If you’ve been loving my sourdough recipes, I’d be so grateful if you pinned a few to your recipe board on Pinterest. It helps more people find them - and start their own sourdough adventures too! 💛
