🫐 5 Sourdough Blueberry Recipes to Make This Summer

Hey Reader,

Have you ever rented a piece of heavy equipment and completely torn up your entire yard? Because that's exactly what I did last weekend πŸ˜…

Since my breakup last year, my friends have been helping me make my yard more manageable. I have about an acre of land, plenty of weeds, and a few drainage issues, so anything that makes maintenance easier is a huge win.

Last weekend, we dug a trench to bury the sump pump line (and accidentally broke the well line in the process... oops 😬) and cleared out a few areas that had been overtaken by weeds and old tree stumps.

It was a lot of work, but now those areas can be seeded with grass and mowed instead of constantly battling them.

This past year has really shown me how important it is to have a community and support system around you. I feel so lucky and grateful for my friends and neighbors who have helped me so much. ❀️

Even though parts of my yard are a bit of a mess right now, my garden is really starting to take off. I've got flowers blooming everywhere, and some of my vegetables are finally starting to form.

Between the garden starting to grow and blueberry season being right around the corner, I'm fully in summer mode over here. β˜€οΈπŸ«

So today, I'm sharing five of my favorite sourdough blueberry recipes. I hope you give one (or all) of them a try and enjoy!

To help you get the best results, here are some ingredients and tools I recommend:

  • Food Scale - Measuring by weight is the easiest way to get consistent results every time.
  • Dutch Oven - Creates steam while baking so you get a beautiful rise and crust.
  • Straight-Sided Containers - Easier to track bulk fermentation.
  • Bread Sling - Helps you safely transfer dough into a hot Dutch oven.
  • Lame - Gives you control and confidence when scoring your dough for an even rise.
  • Proofer - Allows you to control the proofing temperature to better predict bulk fermentation timing.

If so, what's the last concert you went to? 🎢 Last Friday, my friends and I went to see Noah Kahan at Fenway Park in Boston, and it was amazing! We were right up front and had so much fun singing and dancing along. But now that I'm 37, my feet were definitely aching by the end of the night, and getting home at 1 AM was rough. πŸ˜† The rest of my week...

Hey Reader, Do you ever go fruit picking? 🫐 One of my favorite fall traditions is apple picking, but this week I switched things up and went blueberry picking with my sister's family instead. It was so much fun (and delicious)! I ended up bringing home four pounds of blueberries, which are now tucked away in my freezer for future recipes. Besides filling my freezer with blueberries, I also went to...

Hey Reader, Happy 4th of July! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ I hope you're having a fun and relaxing long weekend with friends and family. Here in Massachusetts, we're in the middle of a heatwave. It hit 100Β°F today. As I type this, it's still 80Β°F in my bedroom πŸ₯΅ Before the heat settled in, I managed to harvest all of my shallots and even picked my first cucumbers and zucchini of the season. My little wildflower meadow that...
