It’s officially spring! 🌷☀️ Are you as excited as I am?
I celebrated by trying my hand at a sourdough bunny loaf. And I just noticed that the garlic and shallots I planted last fall are finally starting to peek through. Yay!
I also broke in my fireplace last weekend. I had some friends over Saturday night, and we made beef stew and had a fire, which was very cozy.
Then on Sunday, my sister and brother-in-law came by and we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef, cabbage, and (of course) a loaf of sourdough Irish soda bread. 🍀
Did you do anything to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day or the start of spring? I’d love to hear!
In other news, I’ve been having a lot of fun over on Instagram experimenting with different liquids in sourdough.
This week I tried using an unflavored whey protein shake in place of water, and it actually turned out really good. It added about 4g of protein per slice, and the flavor was surprisingly close to a classic loaf.
